Frank Denneman

In addition to engaging with customers and the press, I present at Industry-leading events to drive awareness and excitement about what we are doing at VMware.

I’m the Chief Technologist for the Cloud Infrastructure Business Group at VMware. I concentrate on new projects and aligning products and features to (new) workload resource requirements in this role. One of the new workload projects I focus on is Machine Learning Infrastructure. How can we improve our current product suite, and how can customers use the current feature set to deploy their ML infrastructure successfully? I serve as a trusted adviser to VMware’s customers and partners and gather customer feedback on VMware Cloud and Hypervisor products. This feedback is relayed to the product teams to ensure new functionalities match the customer’s needs. I hold four patents in compute resource management and storage, while 11 are still pending.

Besides my position at VMware, I serve as a technical adviser for EVO Venture Partners. In this role, I provide strategic guidance for our portfolio.

I am a VMware Certified Design Expert (nr. 29) and the primary author of frankdenneman.nl. A blog focused on resource management for virtual infrastructures. It has been voted as a Top 5 blog consecutively over the last five years. I am a podcast host for the Unexplored Territory podcast (English) and the Dutch podcast “In the aap gelogeerd”, both tech-related podcasts.

I developed the vSphere Design Pocketbook concept, which is a platform for the virtualization community members to broadcast their knowledge. I have co-authored the following books:

– VMware vSphere 6.7 Clustering Technical Deep Dive (2017)
– VMware vSphere 6.5 Host Resources Deep Dive (2017)
– Designing a Storage Performance Platform (2015)
– VMware vSphere 5.1 Clustering Technical Deepdive (2012)
– VMware vSphere 5.0 Clustering Technical Deepdive (2011)
– VMware vSphere 4.1 HA and DRS Technical Deepdive (2010)
